When the snow melts and the grass turns green the Wilsons Phalaropes return to grace the ponds along the roadsides outside of Walden, CO. These small birds are truly a favorite of mine.

and in this case the colorful bird is the female pictured here. They do have the grace of a ballerina in my eyes.
Good Picture. I too shot a black winged stilt at a pond near my home. My picture looks similar to yours i will post it soon.
