A small Brown Treecreeper eyes the way onward and upward with the hopes of finding a small grub along the sloping landscape of a cottonwood tree. Photographed along Clear Creek in Denver, CO.
Hi, they are not all too common for us but every winter a couple make regular appearances. We were luck as this guy was busy foraging on a tree right next to the trail we were walking on.
Hi Eliza, yes the up and down routine is fun to watch. It is fun to try to predict where they will appear next after they disappear into a trees canopy.
I have only managed a few very blurry pics of this bird, so I appreciate the sharpness of your image. It is nice to be able to get a good look!

Lots of good crevices in which to search! I love the way they spiral up the tree then fly down to the bottom and start up again, chirping all the way.
