A little Mountain Chickadee keeping us company on a long winters day. Staying warm and eating well in winter is no small feat or such a little bird yet evolution has served them well with several physiological and behavioral adaptations let remain through winter where most other birds have left. The link below provides a nice account of how Chickadees and other Northern Species make it through the winter her in North America.

HI Jet, yes a nice little moment to sit and rest between foraging forays. They are usually very active all day long in the winter.
