    1. Thanks Mike, we love getting out and about in our great country and sharing those times we do get out. When we go we do take a good number of photos and thus have much to share. You story on the potential transfer of Federal lands to States was an eye opener for me. I can surely see states selling of much of it and as citizens we will be left with little. This is already evident in the diminished quality of state parks in CO over the last few decades.

    1. Thanks Thom, I will check out your blog as I do like music…mainly jazz these day but I cam always use a history lesson as well and at first read your site looks like you have put good research into your writings.

      We were not aware of the Audubon Photo Contest but will look into what is required and maybe give it a go.

  17. I am much taken by the thougth of “what which happens on its own accord.” The sad thing is that we have to fight so hard to allow it to keep happening on its own accord. Meanwhile, however, I happily co-subscribe to that concept — being not only in awe of what happens, but trying to bring that feeling to others. Thank you.

    Mike I love your site. The photos are absolutely stunning and the simplicity of your words leave room for the imagination. Nature really doesn’t need a lot of commentary, but it does stir something in almost everyone, or at least I think it must. My husband and I love getting out and enjoying the beauty and calm of nature as well. It is where I feel closest to God. Thank you for the inspiration. Be blessed.

I agree nature needs little commentary but being human words just come out and I hope they can do justice to the photo and not detract.   27. Just found you thanks to Discover. Really like your posts. We used to live in Laramie and passed through Walden frequently, stopped occasionally. The North Park is one of my favorite places. I’ll be back to this blog often.

This time of year it is teaming with wildlife so it is really nice and much less crowded than other parts of CO. Hope to hear from you often and thanks for visiting the blog.

    1. Hi Steph, sorry for the delay in responding to you comment. Got behind with other things going on.

      Christy and I shot with Nikon cameras and lenses. D-700 and D-800. For wildlife the main lens we use is a 80-400 zoom. This can be handheld with care or placed on a mono-pod so it is versatile. For macro we use a 105mm lens.

      This is the only place we post photos and all traffic to the blog has occurred organically and our likes etc are probably due to the fact we have stuck at this for almost 4 years.

      We created this space to keep us thinking about our photography and perhaps provided others with a little view into what we see and some Nature Therapy.

    1. Hi, our go to is our Nikon 80-400mm which given some practice can be handheld at 400mm. I also like the Nikon 70300 as it is fairly low weight and easy to handhold as well. We use the 7-300 very often when we are in a kayak.

    1. Hi and thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback. Moose are sure beautiful animals and we are always happy to run across them when we get out. We have on reliable spot in Northern Colorado where we almost always come across a few. I have only spent a few days in Maine on the ocean but would love to be able to get some time to explore the woods, river and lakes up there.     1. Hi Sally, yes we seem to perhaps only learn when we actually notice what is going on around us and so few of us humans take the time to notice those things non-human these day. We are indeed becoming disconnected from the world that provides for our existence.
