Prior to getting this photo several young elk raced across the road heading towards Mammoth hots springs closely followed by two coyotes. Once the calves rejoined the main herd the adult females grouped them together and stood guard. With this cow on lookout there was no way a coyote was going to get close to the youngsters and the same went for me.

Riding off into the sunset for a bit of a summer hiatus. Time to explore and conduct a bit of a digital detox so to speak.
