Working our way up the ridges towards the sky in Great Sand Dunes National Park. Being in a landscape of essentially two elements felt oddly strange and yet serene. Simple yet complex. On first glance simple but with each probe further the simplicity and patterns repeat. Sky and Sand then sand and wind and so it goes. November, 2015.

Incredibly simple…yet simply incredible.

Beautiful shot. I love it there, how the designs change with the wind, and how footprints disappear, and all the little critter footprints all over. Makes you wonder how they can survive. I love the waves and patterns.
Peace,

Hi Mary, I could not agree more and we took several photos of tracks of little footprints going up over and around various dunes. Fun stuff for sure. Hope your day is going well.

Very nice and I’m glad it’s in color, the blue sky and tan sand are just meant to be together..

Thanks David, I agree. Color works best here and with a blue sky like we had that day.
