Fantastic photo, Mike. I heard myself go, “ooooh.” Thrashers are so shy, and it’s really hard to capture the beauty of the bill, and you got it all, including the golden eye.

Hi and thanks for the feedback. I could catch the grumpiness but had no idea about these guys being disciplinarians. Within species or towards all birds.
The disciplinarians of my yard…scolding the quail for being quail and me for venturing outside. Even at night I get an ear full if I go out to watch the sky. Luckily the scolding will eventually become a sullen pout.
