I love this photo, Mike. I love ravens. You captured the mischievousness of the raven with the muddy bill, and the majesty in his/her stance, color, eye. Looks very much like your original Horace, which I find very interesting, also from early March. I suppose they have to dig in the mud by March when its been winter so long, and prey is more difficult to find.

Hi Jet, we love ravens as well. They are so intelligent and so much fun to sit and observe. That muddy beak is a very common feature in many of our photographs of ravens around us.
