Peeking in on a well hidden Bull and Cow elk who were enjoying a bit of afternoon sunshine in the golden fall fields. Those warming rays must fell darn good these days as nights have gotten colder than normal these last few weeks.
We saw this large male moose working his way across a small clearing knee deep in the willows last weekend. Picking and choosing small mouthfuls to eat yet walking with purpose from left to right. After a few minutes of good viewing this big guy headed back into the forest and out of sight. Medicine Bow National Forest, WY.

Just as dusk sets in a cute little wren made a visit to the fence in the backyard hopping from picket to picket for just a couple of minutes before taking off into the approaching evening proving the adage that something small and unexpected can make your day.

Although the snow geese and the coyote seemed content to be going about their respective business in the pre-dawn light I think this might change as the day goes on.
