Male American Widgeon all dressed up for the breeding season. I have never seen a widgeon with so much iridescence in his head feathers. They usually appear a nice bright green. These appeared a golden-copper color with a hint of green. His bill and top of head were also much whiter than I had previously seen as the blue color was almost gone.
