Spring storms seem to be prevalent this week as ominous clouds build over the ever arid landscape of the high desert plateau of western Colorado. A stormy Monday might not be such a bad thing for a landscape in search of a drink.
At the end of a nice hike we were greeted by the sun poking through the junipers and pinion pine illuminating one of my favorite wildflowers, painted brush. It always feels good to see these flowers glowing in the sun light as spring and summer arrive.
Along the River near Fruita, CO a Chickadee enjoys the arrival of spring. We are not so far along in the Front Rage of Colorado but a car makes a good time machine propelling you forward several weeks in just a fews hours time.
