As the sun rises on a new blanket of snow questions arise.
Who- a rabbit and someone ins search of a rabbit?
What- did the rabbit escape, the chaser give up?
When- when eyes were closed and sleeping sound?
Where- At least one answer to the story at hand.
A nice story with so many possibilities written in a language all can understand.
You can actually feel it now.
The sun is returning to the winter sky and looking into straight into that wonderful ball of light warms the bones regardless of what the thermometer reads.

After the snow with the storm just winding down. The best of both worlds out on trail. Sun and storm becoming one. In the hills near Bozeman, MT.
For the next couple of weeks we will be posting some of our favorite posts from the past as we take a small respite from the digital world.
Another round of sun and steam to warm a winters day.

A January day spent dreaming of what is yet to come.
Yet living life in the present day.
Standing behind the steam with sun above color filled the landscape.
With rusty orange…
and sometimes blue…
and often all of that and more with steam and sun in front and color all around.
Feeling right at home in a lichen filled forest.
Both us and the Canada Jay.
On a silent morning we stopped and spent some time in the heart of a meadow looking out towards the edge. To the northwest, mountains rise as skies clear all the while clouds and snow roll in right above.
With just a slight turn the mood quickly changes with a dusting of white to the north…
…and to the west a river meanders south and heavy clouds lie overhead…
…to the east the hills rolled as the skies above.
As the day progressed the skies cleared and sun shone bright yet what lingers inside is the views towards the meadows edge.
Looking back at summer’s remains as winter tightens it’s grip on the landscape. Silent now, yet oh so temporal, the ice will melt and flowers bloom again.
But for now summer remains just a memory of what will be.
A bit of moisture in the air made for a wonderful frosty morning.
Warm water and cold air combined to give quite the show on a frosty Friday morning.
