At days end

At the end of a nice hike we were greeted by the sun poking through the junipers and pinion pine illuminating one of my favorite wildflowers, painted brush. It always feels good to see these flowers glowing in the sun light as spring and summer arrive.

Spring King

With the first green leaves just making their presence known this Western Kingbird sat quietly in the early evening occasionally darting to the ground to pick up a insect.

We were able to watch for awhile and enjoy this beautiful bird before they decided enough was enough and flew off into the sunset.

Window

Window

Was it the hike itself, the early morning sunlight or the small window we were hiking to in the rock wall? All seemed like windows in which to experience the wonderful nature therapy offered up in Bryce Canyon on a sunny spring morning.

Two Antelope

Two Antelope…they can be just dots on the landscape or present in the foreground but either way Pronghorn make the western landscape complete.

Looking west from the Pawnee National Grasslands two Pronghorn graze far in the distance with the northern front range of Rocky Mountains as a back drop.

This time looking east from the sage lands of North Park two Antelope graze west of the continental divide.
