A Wilsons Snipe makes a brief appearance from the tall-green grasses of summer that lined the ditch to perch on a rock.

Monday morning meeting are no way to start the week unless it’s a nice short meeting with a fine coworker as was the case with this little butterfly. We met out in a field, cup of coffee in hand, had a quick discussion that was completely on point, then got right to work. No, not all meetings are bad.

Late July and the Dragons do fly. Yes, summer is speeding along and when the birds go a bit silent this time of year the dragonflies take to the sky.

A handful of photos of some of the locals.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Keep healthy and stay safe.

A ruffed grouse emerges from the deep grass to perch for a moment on a beautiful weathered log. It was not long before they hopped down and disappeared from sight just a quickly as they appeared.

A summer afternoon thunderstorm brews behind while the sun still shines ahead. A lovely summer day indeed.

A blue sky reflecting in the waters with a Yellow-headed Blackbird perched along the cattails. That little bit of muck growing on the pond suggests that summer is moving right along.

The wildflowers were still singing and the music was sweet as sweet can be.

A symphony of yellow and purple as color was transformed to sound this summer day.

Happy Monday and wishing you a wonderful week.

Just passing through might be a bit of an understatement. While just getting ready to doze off we heard a bit of commotion just outside our campsite and just across a small creek this male moose came passing though. He moved along quickly and we hardly had time to snap a photo yet along admire him. Just passing through indeed.
Happy Friday and wishing you a wonderful weekend.

While spending time ogling the wildflower patches in front of us we almost forgot to turn around and breathe in the pure cloudless sky and wonderful mountain ridge behind us.

An evening storm passes by bringing thunder but no rain on the mountain peak just across the way.

A classic summer cumulus just seemed to hang over this rock formation from early afternoon until evening.

The setting sun still shining out the mountains ever so close but still far away.
Summer days seem so few.
