Early evening in a quiet wash. Long winter shadows still prevail although the return of cumulus clouds suggests spring is indeed on on the way. Taken off the beaten path in Northern New Mexico on a weekend drive.

The Trio
A trio of bison right at home in the winter weather in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park.
Lizard and Light
We spent quite a bit of time watching this good looking guy hunting for insects on a rock in the forest and waiting patiently for him to move into a very small patch of waning light to snap a few photos. He finally came out into the light and when there held a nice pose for a few seconds while checking us out before resuming his hunting in the shadows.
Sunset
It’s been very windy here in Colorado the last few days so a nice tranquil sunset feels like a needed contrast. Setting sun over calm water captured with Holga Pinhole camera a few years back.

Wouldn’t it be great if we had eyes in the back of our heads. While watching the sunrise one morning in Belize I turned around to find the clouds behind me glowing pink and the water smooth as glass. Photographed with a Zero Image pinhole camera and Kodak Ektar film on Glovers Atoll in Belize.

Not the drink and the photo does have a little white….. but what the heck. The earth demonstrating once again it is alive and in the dead of winter makes a beautiful sight. Photographed in Yellowstone National Park.

Torn between photography and crawling into a warm sleeping bag after a long days hike I took this shot around midnight last summer on a misty evening in East Greenland.
Dimples
This wasn’t the biggest iceberg in the pond but boy oh boy the evening light sure made it special. Photographed while kayaking in Sermilik Fjord, East Greenland, August 2013.
