We rarely see nuthatches in our area so it was a pleasure to spot a red breasted nuthatch prowling a tree in our area. It is cool to see these guys walking head first down a tree looking for a meal.

Moon Snail Egg Collars

Being a mountain dweller and seeing Moon Snail Egg Collars for the first time left me quite perplexed. We found these on a beach and my first thought was a ship lost a few boxes of gaskets that washed up onto the beach. After a few hours of research we discovered what they actually were and were left in pure awe of the creative powers of nature.
