Each winter we are kept good company by at least one and sometimes two Rocky Mountain Cottontails Rabbits which collectively go by the moniker of winter bunns. This years bunn looks happy and healthy but bunny’s beware fox and bobcat tracks have been spotted nearby.

Looks like somebody got a wake up call and right on time as well. With little holes poking through the still snow covered fields all through the valley the Prairie Dogs are definitely wake up. One big stretch, a quick look around and it time to go on this fine spring morning.

Majestic peaks light by the morning sun.
Sliding closer with each stride waiting for the sun to warm our bones.
As eyes gaze across the valley.

As the sun rose the moon set.
A silent rhythm heard.
And so the day began.

Without words much is said.
By not knowing much is known.
A wondrous morning begins in the hills of the Lamar Valley.

The fur on the Pronghorn has become paler as winter progressed and now they move through the snow covered grasslands like ghosts with eyes that keep track on your every move. Like ghosts moving through the snowy landscape.

A young elk looks up from feeding on a quiet winter day.
A mutual hello and we’re on our way.
