Summers remains

Looking back at summer’s remains as winter tightens it’s grip on the landscape. Silent now, yet oh so temporal, the ice will melt and flowers bloom again.
But for now summer remains just a memory of what will be.
A ravens flight

On an overcast afternoon a raven flies while we sit and watch earth bound and content. The Ravens calls rang loud and echoed far and wide across the landscape below. A moment in time that flew quickly by as smooth and swift as the ravens flight.
Cracked

I think there is a geology lesson, or three, to be learned here. Looking out towards the Absaroka mountains along the backbone of earth cracked open from the forces within.
Windy but warm

A Killdeer foraging for ephydrid flies in the warm thermal pools on what became a windy afternoon. The warm thermal pools allow the flies to thrive even in winter and provide birds like this Killdeer a tasty early winter meal on a blustery afternoon.
Mammoth Monochromes

A monochrome afternoon on monochrome late November day. The air had a bit of chill and the sky full of cloud yet not threatening in any way.

Peeking between trees for a wonderful views.

A few inches of snow still on the ground from a recent storm letting you know real winter is only a storm away.

Big views across terraces where the earth demonstrates it is indeed alive.

A beautiful afternoon despite the flatness of the sky.

Morning Color

Finding a bit of color on a Monday morning along narrow gauge terrace. The sun peeking though steam and lighting up the rock. Monday morning color at its finest.
Late November Days

What seems like 5 is only 3 as the sun sets earlier day by day.
No longer Autumn by any means yet winter has yet to fully show it’s face.
Ahhhh…. those Late November Days.
A quiet field

Silence is golden or in this case black and white as afternoon became early evening in the Pelican Valley of Yellowstone National park.
