Left Profile

This was on of the most gregarious Ravens we have encountered and quite interested in finding out what we were up to with our cameras. He hung around checking us out and gave us both left and right profile views. I think left profile was his best side. Yellowstone National Park, November 2015.

On the Lookout

On the Lookout

Prior to getting this photo several young elk raced across the road heading towards Mammoth hots springs closely followed by two coyotes. Once the calves rejoined the main herd the adult females grouped them together and stood guard. With this cow on lookout there was no way a coyote was going to get close to the youngsters and the same went for me.

Quick Hello

Doe_riddle_lake

On the way to Riddle Lake in Yellowstone National Park we spotted this sweet doe keeping an eye on us. After a quick hello, and without a second thought, we each went on our merry ways. Riddle Lake Yellowstone National Park.

Mountain Goat

One of my favorite animals is the Mountain Goat so I was pleased to be able to spend some time watching a few feeding down low in Yellowstone National Park one late spring afternoon. Usually we need the spotting scope just to get a glimpse of these guys feeding high up on the steep cliff faces but this day we got lucky and were able to get fairly close. Beautiful animals for sure.
