Hiking up high towards the summit of Eyjafjallajökull. Volcanic rock, sky, snow melting into water on its way to the sea and space enough to feel at ease.
Hi Alix, I hop eyou can take it out of your bucket soon. Short flight into a very photogenic and beautiful landscape and wonderful culture. Hope your evening is going well.
Ha, I’m impressed, you even saw this volcano which eruption prevented my vacation in Iceland. I had already booked. 😉
But anyway, your picture makes me want to look over the edge. I hope you didn’t take a portrait of someone and told them to “just step back a bit more… and just a tiny bit more… whoops!”… 😉 (sorry 😀 )
In a way it was very much like the dawn of time. That volcano had recently erupted and much of the rock was from that eruption. Fresh new rocks and melting glaciers all in one place. Genesis indeed. Hope your evening id going well.
I always love your photographs. I nominated you for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. If you go to my site, I have explained it. If you choose to accept, great! If not, just know I find your creativity inspiring.

Wow, very cool. Hope you have plenty of time in Iceland. There’s soo much to see and be amazed. Been in that area, too, though not on top of a glacier, and will never forget it. Have you seen the Gigjökull?
Enjoy your time and take care. Oh, and of course, thank you for the great picture and dear reminder of this place of wonder.
Hi and thanks for the feedback. We only got to spend a short time in Iceland a year back and are seriously yearning for a much longer trip as you point out there is so much to explore.
Stunning image!

Very nice. It makes me wonder where the whole goes. Slope of the hill and the shadow create a spiral. Great capture.
