Tree swallow taking a break from feeding. I got worn out just watching how much time and energy they were spending foraging for bugs over a pond and am always amazed at their ability to pull off high-speed ariel maneuvers to avoid mid-air collisions with each other.
very striking composition! I love this. I love the blurriness in the background, too.

Anita, thanks. I had given up on trying to get the swallows flying as it was too dark and noticed they were landing every once in a while on a nice looking branch with a very subdued background so decided to focus on the branch. I just got lucky.

Wow! Great capture! Swallows are incredibly difficult to photograph.

Thanks, I agree swallows are not the easiest bird to photograph. If they would just take it easy for a minute it would much easier. 🙂
