We saw this guy sunning and recovering from yesterdays snow this morning. He was all puffed up and perched on the edge of a spruce catching early morning sun. He and his partner have been building a nest in that spruce. Hopefully this unusual May snow was only an inconvenience and did not harm the nest as we are not sure if eggs have been laid yet.
nature has no boss 
Aw, poor little guy! But then, nature has a way of making things right doesn’t it?

Well, I am glad they had a nice place to hunker down in, the spruce, and today is going to be sunny and warm. Hope they are able to get back to business.

Anne, the bird is Mourning Dove and the photo was taken in a spruce tree in my front yard in denver CO.
