I have had the same feelings about old trees. We still have American chestnut tree stumps in our woods that are decades old. Each time I see one, I am sad that we no longer have them in our forests.
It is . . . although it’s difficult finding people to kid around with. But, at least I have the snow to look forward to (I hope they are not once again overestimating the amounts).
Melissa, I think there are many many folks out there with your regard to old tree and probably many more who have that regard but have yet to recognize it.

Thanks. It is ironic that we know have to learn to see what we once knew.

Despite her appearance she is the most friendly tree in the park. Sometimes things are like that. 🙂

I am sure they are overestimating the amounts at least here in the Denver area.

I revere old trees. The clouds in the background add lots of drama.

Some feel spooked by her with those storm clouds in the background but she is a kind tree. Hope your week is off to a great start.

Thanks, Mike. Gorgeous day today, high of 76. Heavy rain tomorrow, then back to cooler weather, which I don’t mind at all!

I’ve been struck by the same feeling around great old trees and snags. Delighted to find others feel the same.
