Shy

shy

A porcupine peaking out from behind a lodgepole pine near Willow Creek Pass in Colorado. We seldom see theses guys while out and about so this was a treat.

What a beautiful shot! Very clear. We haven’t seen any porcupines in our neck of the woods for a couple of years. We used to at least see their tracks, if not them in person. I miss the. Hopefully some will waddle back.

    1. Hi and thanks. We also miss seeing these guys and remember as kids they used to be around frequently but that was long ago and boy how things have changed. As we destroy habitat I reckon sighting these guys will become even more difficult. Hope your day is going well.

Great shot, Mike! Do you have any recommendations for a commercial pin-hole camera, if I’m too lazy to build a decent one myself? (I don’t think the porcupine shot was a pin-hole camera product, but if it is, I WANT A CAMERA JUST LIKE IT! *grin*

  3. We saw one last year in Yellowstone…the guides were practically salivating when they saw it, pulled off to the side of the road and trudged through hip high snow to get good pictures of it. If I hadn’t had a wicked head cold I would have joined them. As it was I didn’t get a very good picture of it…thanks for sharing this one.

    1. Thanks and it is a treat to see one of these guys. I used to see them while out in the mountain more frequently than I do now. Luckily we did not have to get through deep snow for the photo as he was fairly close to the road off in the trees. Hope your day is going well.
