Snow, water and light combine to make a wonderful sight. Photographed on the banks of the Firehole river in Yellowstone National Park while skiing towards Lone Star Geyser on a sunny winters morning.
Hi Sonya, thanks. I really am fascinated with the way winter light filters through the trees in forests and the light dark interplay between shadow and snow. It is something I love seeing but always have a hard time photographing. Hope your weekend is going well.
Oh man…I am really reliving my trip last year…I saw the coolest bird shape in the snow hanging over the river that we stopped to see one day on our way through the park.
Thanks, it is an amazing place and we sure spend plenty of time reliving our trips to Yellowstone. Here’s to both of us getting back again sometime in the future. Best wishes and hope your day is going great.
Hi Zakariya, thanks for stopping by here as well. We appreciate you looking through the photos. Hope your day is going well and here’s to a great week ahead.
Hi Paula, it was quite wonderful snow in regards to texture, and ability to shine n the light. We have had very little at home this winter so it was great to get a good dose while away in yellowstone.
You get those awesome pillows of snow out west. Light and fluffy!

Not skiing but out of the hot tub and into the snow and not knocking it as everyone should shave that experience at least twice in their lives. And a very happy new year to you as well and hope it is a fun and adventure filled one to boot.

Loved the composition on this. Plus thought a little snow would break up the Florida. Thank you nature has no boss.

Beautiful shot as always 🙂 – and I’m so envious of the masses of snow you had there! One wants to dive in and roll around in it! 😀

I have done the dive into it bit before and believe me it gets cold fast especially in a swim suit. 😉
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and here’s to the week ahead.

Huh, you went skiing in a swim suit? Interesting approach. 😉 But yes, I believe it gets cold. But don’t rob me of my dreams. 😉
Thanks, the same to you – and a (very) belated Happy New Year. 🙂

Yes a bit Finnish and I really would prefer the sauna to a hot tub.

Wonderful composition. The eye runs back along the creek and is snagged by the single trees on left. Great pic.

Thanks for passing the photo along and it is like Flordia today here in Colorado with a predicted high of 70 and sunny. A nice mid-winters respite.
