Thanks, and it was indeed just a moment and a moment in the right place. A minute latter the sun went back behind the clouds for the remainder of our days journey.
Thanks, and our pleasure sharing this wonderful spot. We always have a great time out in Yellowstone and it is alway amore fun than not getting a few good photos along the way. Hop your day is going well and thanks for taking time to give a little feedback as we really appreciate it.
Wonderful. 🙂 … Is that snowy “cloud” in the background to the right (behind the tree) mist/fog or an upcoming snow storm? It looks like as if a dangerous cloud has landed… slightly threatening.
Hi Suzan, that cloud is steam from a fuser/thermal feature. In the cold of winter they put off so much steam that they make those ominous looking clouds. Hope your day is going well.
Oh, yes, I see, thanks. I forgot about the geothermal activity again. Fascinating. Need to visit Iceland soon.
Thanks, after 4 endless meetings today I’ve enough. But yes. Hope your day is at least a little more fun-filled. 😉
Well, how else could you get people who are forced to work with each other every day to talk to each other? 😉
How else will bosses have the chance to bathe in their glory and chew their employees’ ears off while those are forced to listen, nod and smile?
Where else will you have the chance to observe human behavior better as in meetings? 😉
Sorry, being a bit sarcastic here. I’ve been in too many bad (and mad) meetings the past 15 years already.
I love to walk by the conference room in our office complex and peek in on meeting to observe the behavior you mention. Most os the time participants are on their phones checking email, chatting with neighbors etc. Meeting are indeed a great study of human behavior.
What an amazing shot, Mike. I love the quality of light throughout the whole image. Talk about capturing a perfect moment in time. The reflection is a bonus!

Hi Eliza, sometimes that old adage right place at the right times really does apply. We were headed back in after a full day out skiing and happened to be at this pool as the sun broke throughout for just about 5 minutes.
Yes, Yellowstone in winter presents a wonderful landscape and we just happened to be int he right place at the right time that day as the sun peeked out for just about 5 minutes then went back behind the clouds. Thanks for the feedback as we really appreciate it.

The colors are such subtle tints.

Thanks Liz, I also like the subtle colors and perhaps it is the winters dim light making them so subtle?
LikeLike
I think it may be the dim light. Without bright sunlight, the white and dark seem to absorb any color that might be left.

I agree and that lack of full sunlight makes for a kind of special light and in essence reflects winter.

Same here. Yes, fun is a different thing than this. Mostly. Depends on participating persons of course. 😉

In essence the problem with meeting is that we have a system that thinks they need to have them.
