Up on the rim of Pollack Canyon looking towards Utah from the spine of a sandstone ridge. Wispy clouds roll across the sky on an early spring afternoon in the high desert near Fruita, CO.
Hi, Fruita is indeed a fun landscape to hike around in as well as the whole of the canyon country in W Colorado and Utah and i hope you get to spend more time there in the future. Wishing you a great week ahead.
Hi Alix, these clouds seem to do this quite a bit in Fruita. Must be how the air in the desert to the west moves through the hills and canyons or at least that is my speculation.
Hi Eliza, yes we are lucky to live out here where there is such variety with a half days drive. Grasslands to the east, mountains to west and a bit further west canyon country.
Thanks, the sky was indeed so soft that day. Almost too soft. Well at least in the distance to create some contrast but these rock help solve that issue.
Great photograph, really captures the landscape, have been to Fruita, it’s a very interesting place would love to visit again someday.

Sunny, warm and windy down around Denver today. Feel like late April not late March.

The texture contrast between the wispy sky and hard rocks make this a great shot.
