Fuzzy Friend

fuzzy

Found this beautiful fuzzy little moth warming up in the morning sun up near timberline while hiking on a cool summer morning. All that fuzz must help keep her and perhaps her little ant friend warm through the night.

I’m not an expert so I could be wrong but based on the looks of the antennae from this angle I’d say this is a butterfly. The antennae of moths tend to look more like feathers or saw blades. For butterflies they look like clubs. Regardless, it’s a very nice capture, especially with the ant.
