This is such a great shot! I have never seen one of that age. I love wood ducks! I wish they would nest here(northern NM), but they only stay for a couple of weeks in spring – then they probably come to you!
HI, this wood duck was photographed in an area that is closed until July 1st. I have seen them as little ducklings in other areas but never at this stage before. I bet they were born in this preserve and enjoyed the solitude they had prior to July. Hope your weekend is going well.

Hi and yes things seem extra mucky this year. We have had a wet spring and it warmed up quickly. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?
