Sometimes it’s warm and foggy and other times it’s cold and foggy. This was a morning the earth could see it’s breath and I was looking for an extra layer to wear under my old down jacket. Teton National Park, WY.
Hi and thanks for the feedback. Even though the cold can get to me some winters I can’t imagine being without that period. Hope you have found warmer and happier climates.
Hi Eliza and thanks. It was cold that morning especially since there was some humidity in the air making that fog and it seems to me the humidity is what makes me cold.
Nice picture…An ice fog with early morning sun is a beautiful sight with billions of reflective ice crystals suspended in the air but I’ve never been able to photograph it as it happens.
Thanks, The ice crystals suspended in the air are something I have yet to really photograph well either. Conditions probably have to be just right. A combination of both proper light and very cold temps. Hope your new year has started well.
Beautiful haunting, mystical picture with poetic phrases. I especially love “the earth could see its breath.”
I was just reading what klho48 said about not being able to capture ice crystals suspended in the air. I have the same experience.
Thank you, Mike, for the follow. I really appreciate it.
Happy New Year!
Mary
im jealous. all i get is Houston Texas heat and humidity. it might sound crazy to yall, but id appreciate some cold weather. todays temperature here on january 8 is: 66 F
Hi, wanting a bit of change is not a crazy thought at all. I can not imagine being without the four season I have experienced all my life. Maybe I would feel different if raised in a warmer climate but I don’t think that would be the case. Time for a reverse spring break this year…travel up north while we all come south. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful!! πβοΈπ

Reminds when I used to say I “lived too close to Wyoming….” it’s beautiful, but I was tired of being cold. Beautiful, evocative…..yes.

Cold fog is rare around hereβ¦brrr, sounds bone-chilling. Love the shot – rather mysterious.

Thanks Mary, It is difficult to capture ice in crystals in the air, it has to be very cold and the light just right.
