When the rain falls hard and the fog moves in perhaps the answer lies in front of your face. Walking with nature reminds me I cannot predict the future but I can act in the present.
To remind myself to more live in the present is a real challenge for me day after day. Too often I get swept away by the daily tasks and hassles, pondering about consequences of actions, relations to others and what the future might bring.
But I always find it very comforting to feel the continuity of everything while being out in the nature (especially in forests). Trees are “just” there right now – and will always be there… (as long as we humans don’t cut them down).
Nature teaches so much and takes so little..as near a steady state system as their can be and if we cut down a tree we better not make paper to print new on to say the least.

Yes! I love the sentiment and the photo expresses it so well.

Thanks, a simple thought but one which I need reminding of often. Being outdoors does seem to make the message easier to swallow.
