What a great bird with gorgeous colours. Our Eurasian Jay is our most colourful bird and has a terrible voice.

Hi Jays do have some interesting and sometimes irritating vocalizations don’t they. I have not seen a Eurasian Jay but hoe to do so one day. Hope your week is off to a great start.

Nice shot. I love the eye. Speaking of which, our Stellar’s jays have white eye brows. I wonder if they don’t up there, or if it’s a male/female thing? We are in northern NM. And ours, I don’t think, have that blue stripe up the middle of their face. This one looks really sweet. A little smaller too. Really a nice capture.

Hi, Have seen Stellars with the white over the eye as well as others with black over the eye. They seem to have variations dependent on location and it is always fun to see the differences.

Oh, this pic has my Impressionistic imagination overflowing…I like how the lichen-covered branches soften the background bokeh superbly, and the bird is so beautiful. Extra liking it.
