This guy was quite curious as to what we were doing although our presence did not alter his routine. He would dive into the water via a small hole in the ice and every 5-6 tries come out with a nice looking fish.

Great capture – you’ve got the look complete with raised paw! Why is it we love otters so? I guess it’s their playful natures, even though they are fierce hunters. 🙂

HI Eliza, yes these guys are pretty tough utters and I have heard can be quite mean as well even with that playful nature. Perhaps it is also their social nature.

I watched a muskrat in a very similar looking scene. It dived several times and came up with vegetation. No fish.
