Summer Morning Song

With Wrens and Robins singing in the trees and Chipping Sparrows chipping  we were treated to a wonderful summer morning.

    1. HI Jim, the small forests near our house are going through the same disappointing change. All is quiet and nary a bird to be seen on our morning walks. I still hear the Jays squawking and perhaps a single wren but silence has taken over.

        1. HI Jim, yes in the mountain east of the continental divide the lodgepole pines have been devastated. The forest is either 60-70 dead or cleared. Either way it is a very different ecosystem. Aspen are starting to move in where the pines have been lost in some places and another young trees have been starting to regrow.
