They are indeed beautiful butterflies and while not the most abundant a few always turn up to brighten a July afternoon.

The Admirals are truly stunning butterflies, especially when fresh, like this. However, what you have there is Limenitis weidemeyerii. It lacks the orange apical patches and the brown background color on the underside hind wing of L. lorquini. Still, a gorgeous creature.
