A Lesser Yellowlegs foraging in a temporary pond alongside a county road in Eastern Colorado last spring. I sure wish we would get some snow soon as without it winter feels like a strange spring that lacks the birds and has short days.
Guess you must be on the other side of the mountains from where they are getting lots of snow? It’s more weather weirding – even we have snow still from the mid-month snowstorm. I doubt it will melt before the ‘real’ winter hits.
HI Eliza, we have gotten snow and this week it looks like it will be here for a bit as the temperatures will drop so there real winter looks to have made it’s way here. Hope you make the best of your winter even though it seems to be shaping up to be a long one.

Trying! 😉
That’s all you can do.
Well, if you really want it, I wish it for you, too! Weather is so strange in the past few years. Nice yellowlegs photo! I like the reflections.
Thanks for the wish as I am quite fond of snowy winters. More fun to play in the snow than just a cold winter day.
Beautiful, this bird visited our shoreline once last year. A big rarity at our end.
HI and thanks, glad you got to see the Yellowlegs and it is always fun to have a rare visitor stop by. Wishing you a wonderful week.
