I’m always amazed at the amount of color on even the most bland looking birds. Iridescence adds another layer (and lots more colors).

There have been times when I’ve spotted this ibis species and it looks black. Excellent gathering of color here, Mike. Wonderful photo.

HI Jet, we have had similar experiences with Ibis looking black especially in dull light. the sun sure does wonders don’t it.

It just seems a disservice to this bird to call it ‘white faced.’ It is … but that’s certainly not its most intriguing color!
