An American Goldfinch was working over these thistle plant pretty good for an afternoon meal and from the looks of it this chubby guy is well versed at extracting thistle seeds.

They love zinnias and sunflowers, too, and are expert extractors!

Hi, it is amazing how they are able to pick those little seeds from those flowers. We leave our coneflowers overwinter in the hope we can attract a few to the yard but have not had much luck but you never know. Hope your weekend is going great.
