A young white-tailed deer forages on what remains of last summers bounty.
While Mom shepherds the youth and keeps a watchful eye.
Then time to share as the sibling moves in.
Just a quick morning visit before we are left with a birds eye view of the namesake tail.
Wonderful series, Mike!

When I first started photography, I thought I would take great pictures. All I seemed to get was the backside of local mule deer. All the time. Your series is certainly much nicer than mine ever were! I think these are beautifully rendered in b&w.

We do know that feeling very well. Birds, mammals even frogs all from the backside.
The BW just felt right on a grayish winter day.
Hop your week has started well.

HI Eliza, yes it’s nice to see these siblings getting on fine and so far a mild winter has made things easier for finding a meal this year. Hop they grow up nice and strong.
