A female Yellow Headed Blackbird clinging tightly to an old cattail on a windy morning. From this vantage point she could check out all the males who were busy singing there songs.
With the snow still flying and a cold wind blowing we were surprised to find a few early arrivals to the marshes near the Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge last weekend. One such arrival was this handsome Cinnamon Teal hanging out in last years grass. Walden, CO.
Waiting ever so patiently to approach the edge of a creek we watched this black Crowned Night Heron sneak up to the edge but to his chagrin we had better luck watching him than he did fishing. Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge in Walden, CO.
