While watching a nice herd of mule deer one young Doe stood out and she was all ears and eyes.

Empty the bucket

We all need just a wee bit of time to empty the bucket before it overflows and makes a mess on the floor.
A bit of time to let your brain drain of that endless stream of information you have taken. Information we cannot process or act on to slip away.
Just a few minutes to shut off the flow and open the drain.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Lone Cottonwood

A lone cottonwood stands tall in a valley larger than life. I bet this guy has seen it all.
As Spring Begins

As spring begins snow still blankets the landscape. Yet it is not mid-winter snow. Transformed by wind and sun and then the cold of night this was a day to wander along and enjoy the season before it’s gone.

Wind and sun and even more wind have given this snow covered hill a dune like quality.

On this day the wind blew strong yet the sun was warm as we made our way along the trail and softening the thin veil of clouds along the distant horizon line.

Streams began to flow some exposed and running free while others were still hidden beneath a blanket of snow.

A seasons long drift formed what we called the ear.
To end the day the wind bid us adieu while crossing a final open valley as spring begins yet winter remain.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Little Guy

Just as dusk sets in a cute little wren made a visit to the fence in the backyard hopping from picket to picket for just a couple of minutes before taking off into the approaching evening proving the adage that something small and unexpected can make your day.
On a Monday morning

Time flies especially and especially on the weekends with the speed of a woodpecker pecking.
Well, you know what I mean.
Happy Monday and have a great week.
Foggy and Frosty
Rising in the east and obscured behind thick fog, the winter sun lights an old cottonwood tree covered in delicate hoar frost. Once the fog lifted it only took a couple of hours of sunlight to melt the frost away. Temporal, fractal art at is finest. Grand Teton National Park, WY.
For the next couple of weeks we will be posting some of our favorite posts from the past as we take a small respite from the digital world.
Mr Freeze
We saw this guy while out walking on cold foggy morning. He looks charming enough but a gut feeling told me to not get so close that he could wrap his frosty arms around you. I kept him at camera length and admired his beauty and thanked him for allowing us to take a photo.
