This year the afternoon showers seemed to have returned on a regular basis, greening things up, but more importantly a sense of rhythm to the day that was absent over the last few years when the showers were infrequent. Feathered sky in a rocky landscape with the sea behind my eyes. Sky as well as land and sea are all a part of place. Understanding what they do is knowledge of that place.

I walked out onto the front porch to an awesome sunrise the other day and grabbed the camera. The only problem is lacking a tripod I knew I couldn’t hold the camera steady enough to get a clear photo so I did what is commonly done and introduced some motion to the photo. Cliche, maybe, but fun nonetheless and life should be fun.
When on long drives I always see things I want to photograph but seldom stop to do so. Don’t know why but I suspect the lure of the destination becomes more important than the journey. This time I did pull over for a nice sunset lighting up the tall grass in Northern New Mexico a few weeks ago.

The trees, mountains and sky use a small pond near Yule Pass in CO to reflect upon themselves. Nature is a mirror we can use to see ourselves more clearly.
