Autumn Coots

Two American Coots enjoying an afternoon in the golden reflection of cattails gone brown for the season. We are still waiting for the Ducks to return and fill up the ponds but until the Ducks arrive the Coots have the place all to themselves. Fall can be a quiet time.

Into the Sunset

Into_the_sunset

Riding off into the sunset for a bit of a summer hiatus. Time to explore and conduct a bit of a digital detox so to speak.

For the next several weeks images previously posted will reappear on the blog. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for all your support and wonderful feedback it really is appreciated.

The power of the summer sun, melting the snow to fill the creeks, powering the trees to grow their leaves and the list goes on.

Farewell Spring

Farewell_spring

The early bloomers have gone to seed and the grassing is growing ever taller. Farewell spring and hello summer.

We have had a nice cool and wet spring but… Shazam…just like that, the furnace has been turned on with temperatures in the upper 90’s this weekend. Summer has arrived.

Warm Welcome

Finch_sunrise_1

A male house finch enjoying the ever earlier sunrise as spring marches onward. With rare exception early April seems to mark the time of year we begin to see and hear the finches in our neighborhood each year and as the sun rises earlier everyday they provide a warm welcome to those still crisp but beautiful spring mornings.
