Working our way up the ridges towards the sky in Great Sand Dunes National Park. Being in a landscape of essentially two elements felt oddly strange and yet serene. Simple yet complex. Looking out from camp on a cloudy afternoon after a wet day of kayaking in the Acous Peninsula, British Columbia. I love the repetitive pattern of kelp, black rock, white rock that is prevalent in the landscape in this region because even cloudy days are filled with color.

Obscured by clouds and firmly in the southern sky it’s time to let go those summer dreams and do a little dance for the snow to fly. Early November always feels like a long wait for winter and an even longer wait for summer.
