Photographed in the bentonite hills outside of Grand Junction CO. When I was shooting this boulder a person walked over to ask what I was photographing. I pointed to the rock and they responded with oh…artsy photos. I just had to smile and nod yes.

A bright blue iceberg lighting up a misty grey morning. Early August 2013 Karale Glacier, East Greenland.

When on long drives I always see things I want to photograph but seldom stop to do so. Don’t know why but I suspect the lure of the destination becomes more important than the journey. This time I did pull over for a nice sunset lighting up the tall grass in Northern New Mexico a few weeks ago.

Old aspens resting peacefully. West elk wilderness,CO.

I had a dream I was cross country skiing past geysers in yellowstone last night. I love when that happens. Photographed in YNP Jan 2013 on an iphone and edited with wood camera.

Fiery sunset suggests warmth in a cold land. The evening sun dips below the Greenland ice cap setting fire to Sermilik Fjord. Photographed this summer while on a kayaking trip in East Greenland.

Little ice chunks out for a moonlight swim.

I went to Greenland to kayak and view icebergs and came back in awe of the geology. Every mountain peak seems to have veins of minerals and variations in colors that are jaw dropping. Note to self: next time bring a geologist.

It’s falling and that means it’s time to fall with it. Cooler, wetter and very colorful up in the hills. A beautiful time to be outside.

When the earth gives birth. Peeking into new life near Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland. Pinhole photograph on film, 2013.
