Seeking Solitude where sea and sky become one.
A foggy morning in the the Acous Peninsula made it easy to feel the solitude we set out to seek in this magnificent place.The sea and sky were both a silver grey and the trees a greener shade of green.

Our planet moving along in a cycle that’s slower than what we easily can comprehend but seeing helps understand it nonetheless.
Sometimes a still scene feels like a movie and in this case I could feel the rocks moving ever so slowly from the top of the outcropping into the valley below.

While the classic photo of the Western Meadowlark is taken with the bird singing, mouth wide open, this guy refused to cooperate and sing his wonderful tune while I was watching him. He waited until I got tired and turned my head from the camera to sing his tune, which was magical nonetheless.

While the Prairie Dogs were busy excavating new dens and scurrying about this Hawk stood watch from the edge of the field waiting for their next meal. We stopped to watch for quite some time and although in our estimation the opportunity for a meal did present itself the Hawk the Hawk thought otherwise yet kept their silent watch.

An evening rain left frozen pools that had just begun to thaw and clouds lingered throughout the day. Yet all in all it was a perfect hike and one just right for seeking solitude.

Along the River near Fruita, CO a Chickadee enjoys the arrival of spring. We are not so far along in the Front Rage of Colorado but a car makes a good time machine propelling you forward several weeks in just a fews hours time.
