While floating down a stretch of the Snake River in WY we startled this Sandhill Crane who was hidden in the grass on the river bank. They squawked a Sandhill Crane squawk and did a big jump of alarm but given the river was moving us right along they soon had the bank to themselves again.
Dancing gently in the breeze these flowers made a walk along this trail one to remember.
Up high in the mountains where the snow is just melting the Glacier Lilies are starting to appear. The dark green background made for a fun conversion to BW as the sunlight gently illuminates the petals of this wonderful flower.

We see this Black Crowned Night Heron at the same spot along the South Platte river almost every evening in the summer patiently working the water for a meal.
Moving slowly with little sound a White Tailed Deer enjoys a nice buffet of fresh leaves.

We took the pinhole camera up on scarp ridge and and came home with a fuzzy memory… but are’t they all.

We heard this female Sparrow chirping away and singing non stop from the other side of the lake. When we got nearer to her she went silent but did allow a few quick photos before darting back into the thicker brush along the lakeshore.
