Warming

Marmot_2 Although striking a similar pose to the chillin’ Prairie Dog posted earlier this week, this Red Bellied Marmot was warming in the rays of the sun, which is slowly loosing that heating power, after a early fall snow blankets the high country the previous day.

Dusting

It was cloudy and cold all day but as evening approached the clouds were on their way out, blue sky moving in and just a dusting of snow on the peaks in the distance. Morning will be crisp and the sky clear as a bell.

Days End

Days End

Goodbye sunlight. Now that the trees have dropped their leaves and daylight is short I find myself walking to work with the rising sun and walking home in the dark. It might be awhile before I witness the sunset again. Pinhole photograph of wonderful late fall sunset.

Pull over!

Pull over!

When on long drives I always see things I want to photograph but seldom stop to do so. Don’t know why but I suspect the lure of the destination becomes more important than the journey. This time I did pull over for a nice sunset lighting up the tall grass in Northern New Mexico a few weeks ago.
