The coneflowers are one of the later bloomers in our area and provide a snack for some of the other late season visitors. In this case it’s a cabbage white butterfly getting a sip of nectar on late summer afternoon.

A peculiar looking green-eyed bee/wasp enjoys a bit of time on the coneflowers.

Seeing eye to eye with a dragonfly.
A fine way to start the day.

The local Fritillaries seem to like the Blanket flower as much as we do.

Granted no one wants ants in the pants but ants in the plants is another thing all together. One a fine summer day the ants were just as abundant as the wildflowers along the trail from the Rocky Mountain Penstemon pictured above to…

the Townsends daisies and Larkspur…

We met out in a field, cup of coffee in hand, had a quick discussion that was completely on point, then got right to work. No, not all meetings are bad.

Late July and the Dragons do fly. Yes, summer is speeding along and when the birds go a bit silent this time of year the dragonflies take to the sky.

A handful of photos of some of the locals.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
