Summer speeding up as water flows from snow above.
Thunderstorms loom and the sun shines bright as July is ushered in.

Just for fun another basket of spring wildflower rendered in monochrome.

Enjoy.

We all need just a wee bit of time to empty the bucket before it overflows and makes a mess on the floor.
A bit of time to let your brain drain of that endless stream of information you have taken. Information we cannot process or act on to slip away.
Just a few minutes to shut off the flow and open the drain.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

A lone cottonwood stands tall in a valley larger than life. I bet this guy has seen it all.

As spring begins snow still blankets the landscape. Yet it is not mid-winter snow. Transformed by wind and sun and then the cold of night this was a day to wander along and enjoy the season before it’s gone.

Wind and sun and even more wind have given this snow covered hill a dune like quality.

On this day the wind blew strong yet the sun was warm as we made our way along the trail and softening the thin veil of clouds along the distant horizon line.

Streams began to flow some exposed and running free while others were still hidden beneath a blanket of snow.

A seasons long drift formed what we called the ear.
To end the day the wind bid us adieu while crossing a final open valley as spring begins yet winter remain.
Have a wonderful weekend.

A monochrome afternoon on monochrome late November day. The air had a bit of chill and the sky full of cloud yet not threatening in any way.

Peeking between trees for a wonderful views.

A few inches of snow still on the ground from a recent storm letting you know real winter is only a storm away.

Big views across terraces where the earth demonstrates it is indeed alive.

A beautiful afternoon despite the flatness of the sky.

A quiet late autumn afternoon with sun going down and moon already up.
Wishing you a bit of quiet and solitude this weekend.

Silence is golden or in this case black and white as afternoon became early evening in the Pelican Valley of Yellowstone National park.

The long view from the Norris Hot Springs area looking out towards the Gallatin Mountain range.

Facing into the ever changing wind as steam heads our way at Biscuit Basin.

A Bison enjoying some open space around Black Sand basin.

Hot water pouring into the Firehole rive as steam clouds the lodgepole forest behind at Midway Geyser Basin.

With the silence only punctuated by a infrequent call of a pair of Grey Jays we walked through the grasses and lodgepole pines on a fall day with the sun veiled by cloud yet still somewhat present.

Listening for a deer or perhaps a bear the forest remained silent. Even the tall dry grasses stood still as statues.

Just when you thought it could not get any quieter a Grey Jay would call one of their various calls but were never seen, only heard. as we walk through the forest and meadows that day.

Footnote: The Grey Jays is now Officially called the Canada Jay but Grey Jay just felt appropriate on this slightly grey and very quiet fall afternoon.
